We utilize the Into Reading and Into Literacy series for reading, writing and language arts, Into Math for mathematics instruction, and Florida Science for Kindergarten – 8th grade science. In addition, technology integration plays a huge role in classroom instruction as we prepare our students with the skills they need for the future. Our character education program through Kagan Cooperative Learning assists students in becoming caring, responsible individuals and creating a culture of support for improving student success.

Athenian Academy utilizes Kagan Cooperative Learning, which encourages every student to be actively engaged in the learning process. Through the use of Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures, students are taught how to learn cooperatively with their peers, while simultaneously required to have individual accountability for their own learning. As a direct result of infusing Kagan Cooperative Learning into our students’ daily learning experiences, students’ yearly academic achievement, social skills, and character virtues improve. All teachers at Athenian Academy are required to receive extensive and on-going Kagan Cooperative Learning training throughout their years of teaching at our school.
