Our Governing Board consists of dedicated community volunteers who provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction while remaining committed to providing the best educational experience for our students, families, and team.

James Mathieu, Esq. has a varied background in many areas of the practice of law having owned a general practice law firm for over 20 years. Additionally he has served as a municipal attorney and a brief stint as a city manager. James has served as Athenian Academy's Governing Board President for over 10 years.
Michelle Zervas currently works for the Pasco County School District. Previously, she worked in personal and business banking for over ten years. Michelle and her family reside in Pasco county and enjoy all that Florida has to offer.
Michael Trimis has more than 43 years in international technology and business operations. He has experience as an executive manager and as a premier management consultant. Michael has been on both sides of the service provider and a customer relationship. His primary industries have been in banking and insurance but he has also applied his expertise horizontally across many other industries.
Nick Wade works for Pasco County Schools and brings first-hand knowledge of district operations and students’ needs to his role. With a background in retail management, Nick has developed strong leadership, budgeting, and team-building skills that guide his approach to thoughtful decision-making and fiscal responsibility. He is dedicated to ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for every student.
Athenian Academy of Technology and the Arts is committed to addressing parent and public concerns promptly and professionally. We encourage concerns to be resolved at the lowest possible level through open communication with school personnel.
If you are a parent and have not been satisfied with the resolution of an issue after speaking with your child’s teacher, or if you have contacted the school regarding a concern and are not satisfied with the response, please follow the steps below:
Step 1
Contact the Assistant Principal, Danielle Dudley.
Step 2
If your concern remains unresolved, contact the Principal, Evan Markowitz.
Step 3
If you are still not satisfied with the response, contact the Administrator, Dan Rishavy.
Step 4
If additional concerns remain, you may contact the Governing Board’s designated parent liaison, James Mathieu
Public Comment
Members of the public may address the Governing Board for up to three minutes during the public comment portion of Governing Board meetings. Public comments generally occur near the beginning of the meeting. Individuals wishing to speak must complete and submit a Public Comment Card before the meeting begins.
Comments are limited to three minutes per speaker, and each individual will be given one opportunity to speak. The Board is not obligated to respond during the meeting and generally will not do so.
Parental Rights in Education Concerns
Procedures for parents to notify the school of concerns relating to parental rights in education can be found here: Parental rights in education F.S. 1001.42 (8)(c) expressed concerns. Step 1 refers to our process above. In order to raise a concern, the parent or guardian must first summarize the nature of the concern in writing, specifically describing the factual issues. The school principal will respond and attempt to resolve the concern within seven (7) days of receipt of the notification.
